So true to our aliases, “Try it twins,” my sister and I are always trying new things. The main thing on our agenda this week was finding a moisturizing, quality lip gloss recipe and/or brand, that was firstly, safe for my lips but also fit into a few other attributes.
The ideal product would be:
- And lets face it, actually cute
Your girls are picky about their lip glosses. How else would our lip gloss ever be poppin? Lil mama set the bar high with her bubblegum lips. Nonetheless, school is back in, and we desperately needed some reliable cosmetics we could rely on for cheap. What better way than to find a recipe we could make ourselves.
After some research, tears, sweat, and ultimately a major discussion session with our younger entrepreneurial cousin, the ingredients we needed came to light. Our cousin’s fool proof recipe goes as follows:
- Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil
- Hydrogen Polyisobutene
- Ethylene Copolymer
- Butylene Copolymer
- Organic Cold Pressed Jojoba Oil
- Vitamin E Oil
But don’t worry–we don’t have any of those “scientific products” laying around either. So for a simplified all-natural lip gloss recipe you can truly whip up right now, use:
- 12g Organic Unrefined Coconut Oil (.42 oz)
- 15g Organic Cold Pressed Jojoba Oil (.53 oz)
- 2g Vitamin E oil (.07 oz)
- 5g Melted Beeswax (.17 oz)
- 5g Vegetable Glycerin(.17 oz)
All the products linked to are the cheapest options I’ve tried that still work like a charm.
Those ingredients are the perfect combination to get the consistency of lip gloss. They offer tons of vitamins, nutrients, and minerals for healthy, supple lips. (Hello Date night!)
But if you’re not exactly the “DIY type” and you really just want to find a cheap, quality brand with the ingredients listed above, then SGC Cosmetics is perfect for you. The CEO of SGC has a great message and swears by handmade, cruelty-free, gluten-free, vegan products. And now, I’m not one to promote just any brand for free, but my inner cheapskate just couldn’t pass up sharing these beautifully priced lip glosses. Literally none of the products exceed $3.50!
The glosses feel absolutely amazing on my lips, and my lips have always been prone to chapped dryness. Trust me–it can be embarrassing. The lowest price on the site is $1.50, and you can even purchase custom glosses. I was shocked to say the least. So yeah, If I’m able to support a young solopreneur with a bomb recipe, you better believe I will. Let me know if you try out the recipe or brand!
